Director, Global Library Initiatives Stony Brook University
Since its establishment in September 2014, the Office of Global Library Initiatives at Stony Brook University worked closely with academic and clinical departments and the Office of Global Affairs to identify international initiatives, programs, and activities in order to focus the Library’s efforts to the areas that are most critical to SBU success; developed relationships with academic libraries that support the global mission of Stony Brook University and initiated sustaining international collaborations; expanded information exchange and visiting scholar programs; initiated and developed relationships with other research libraries abroad to allow SBU researchers and students access to research material during extended stays in other countries; and provided reference, research services, and library instruction to SBU’s global campuses in Korea, China, and research facilities in Madagascar. This poster session in text and images will showcase our successful story and highlight the importance of our role in promoting international library collaborations for a sustainable future.
