This interactive pre-conference workshop is designed to provide an easy-to-follow framework for library workers who deliver Spanish bilingual storytime, as well as teach participants original translations of songs and rhymes.
Attendees will learn about the selection of appropriate texts, how to prepare texts for storytime, translation practices to produce material, and bilingual facilitation to implement programs that are rich in early literacy practices, linguistically sound, and culturally affirming. They’ll also engage in a sing-along to learn new songs, rhymes, and fingerplays - complete with manipulatives.
